Marble Stone polishes up its supply chain

Qatari based marble company has fine-tuned its supply chain for quality and efficiency.

Marble Stone has streamlined its supply chain to cater for the highest standards of speed and efficiency, according to a statement from the company.

In order to reduce the waiting time for clients, Marble Stone has stockpiled over 65,000 square metres of marble, ready to be cut, sold and installed at any time, making it the largest stockist of quality marble in the country.

Speaking with business unit director, Wasel Kannout, he said, “We are currently supplying approximately 35% of our inventory to the whole of market, a percentage which we are increasing at a rate of 5% per annum. Once we reach 50%, we will maintain this balance between supplying the Qatari market, and supporting the projects of our affiliate companies, such as Khayyat Contracting and Trading and Urbacon.”

 Marble Stone’s advantage doesn’t stop at its easy access to the product, but also tailoring the material for each client. With five in house water jet cutting machines, three bridge cutters, a 6D and an edge-polishing machine, Marble Stone has all the equipment to provide the finished product to its clients exact specification.

The response has been so good that plans are already in the works for a showroom, most likely to be opened before the end of the year.

Speaking on behalf of affiliate company Khayyat Contracting and Trading, CEO Mohamed Moataz AlKhayat said, “Qatar’s focus on creating a high quality environment for both business and tourism is reflected through the materials it uses in its developments. Marble Stone has been quick to meet the demands of the market by supplying the finest marble from countries such as Italy and Spain, and in turn offer quick access to high quality material.”

To date, Marble Stone has turned over in excess of 20 million QAR, and with the increasing demand for finishing products such as marble, will likely be a welcome relief to the finishing market.
